When making a purchase with cryptocurrency – either for a Top Shot pack, a Moment on the marketplace, or for more Dapper Balance – Coinbase will let you know if you have underpaid, overpaid, or if there was a late payment.
These scenarios, while all slightly different, can result in a delayed purchasing experience.
An underpayment, as the name implies, means we received less funds than the cost of what was trying to be purchased.
For example, when buying a pack, an underpayment means the amount we received was less than the price of the pack. When this happens, our customer support team will reach out and reimburse you in your Dapper Balance for the amount of crypto we received.
When adding funds to your Dapper Balance, on the other hand, an underpayment means the amount we received from your external wallet was less than the amount you were attempting to add. When this happens, your Dapper Balance will update with the amount we received.
When adding funds to your Dapper Balance, an overpayment means the amount we received from your external wallet was more than what you were attempting to add. Rest assured, your Dapper Balance will update with the full amount we received.
If you have an overpayment for a pack purchase, we will reimburse you the difference in your Dapper Balance.
Coinbase has a standard 60-minute payment window. If a payment arrives to us after this hour-long window is closed, we are unable to automatically fulfill the associated order. But, as long as the funds have been sent to the correct address, we have received them.
In the case of a late payment on a pack purchase, we may not be able to to deliver the item you originally tried to purchase. We will, instead, reimburse you the amount of the purchase in your Dapper Balance. In the case of a late payment on a Dapper Balance deposit, we will also add the funds to your account.
Late payments can occur with any currency, but are especially common with Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash due to network speed. You may also experience late payments with Ethereum if you are not sending enough gas with your transactions.
To avoid late payments, we recommend paying with a different cryptocurrency or using your credit card. With Ethereum purchases, if you have the option, please speed up your payment by sending enough gas to cover the transaction.
Please note: our team is working hard to ensure we can manually detect these payments, which will allow us to deposit the required Dapper Balance in your account as quickly as possible. We are also actively searching for underpayments and overpayments (for pack purchases), and late payments (for all cases) to get your account credited as soon as possible.
