As part of the upcoming Crescendo network upgrade on the Flow Blockchain, all Cadence fungible tokens will be ERC-20 compatible, and all ERC-20 compatible tokens on Flow can be used in Cadence smart contracts without special handling. This will ensure that all Flow applications – whether they are built with Solidity, Cadence, or some mix of both – are fully interoperable with the wider web3 ecosystem. That means anything that you collect or own on either chain can seamlessly be transferred between both networks. Due to the network changes required for this upgrade, Circle in collaboration with both Dapper Labs and the Flow Foundation will discontinue support for USDC on Cadence effective 12am PT, September 3, 2024. For the vast majority of Dapper Wallet users, your balances are not impacted by this news and no action is needed. Dapper Balance continues to be backed 1 for 1 by Circle USDC. There are no changes to the Dapper Labs & Circle partnership. Those who are directly holding USDC on Flow or FLOW coin in your Dapper Wallet, received an email outreach informing them that they will need to follow the instructions below. If you did not receive this email and are directly holding USDC on Flow or FLOW coin in your Dapper Wallet, please reach out to our Support Team. How To Proceed If You Have FLOW Coins or USDC On Flow (Cadence) in your Dapper Wallet Here is what you need to know for a smooth transition of your assets ahead of the September 3 milestone: Dapper Wallet Balance: All Dapper Balance is backed by USDC with Circle and that will remain the case. As such, Dapper Balance does not require any action. FLOW Coin Withdrawals: If you hold any FLOW coins within your Dapper Wallet, these need to be withdrawn into a dedicated Flow wallet by the September 3, 2024 deadline. FLOW coin deposits have been disabled in the meantime. USDC on Flow: For now, USDC deposit and withdrawal functionality in Dapper Wallet are still enabled, but these options will be disabled for all users on or after August 27, 2024. If you hold USDC on Flow in any wallet, we recommend you review this latest announcement from the Flow Foundation for detailed guidance. The below screenshot is an example of how it will look if you are holding FLOW in your Dapper Wallet For step-by-step instructions on how to withdraw your FLOW coins, please refer to our support article. We’re looking forward to the opportunities for both users and developers in this new future for Flow. You can learn more about Crescendo here.
